Liz is gaining interest in joining us.
I think a trip to Cycle Gear for winter gear may be in order for us.

Is this ride still a go? If so, what is the rally point & time? I'll ride my KLR, my son and his buddy are visiting from Alaska and considering renting a Polaris Slingshot to make the ride as long as it's 100% pavement, if that's ok. What's the estimated return time & place?

Yes All pavement. Meeting at Snow Mountian gas station/smoke shop at 7am

Expect a LONG and possible COLD day. Route shows aprox. 6-7 hours riding time.....throw in about 4 hours of and it will take all the daylight for that day. The good thing is that you can bail at any time and head back.

It looks like we will be having temps in the 40's-50's for the day. I'm sure it will dip considerably going up to Dante's Peak. Also at the end of the ride Going over Mountain Springs.
Again- Dress warm and in layers.
Tip- I found Hand, body, toe warmers at Bass Pro yesterday for $10 per package.
Team Vegas used them successfully during our Ludlow ride Monday.

Another thing to keep in mind is the end of the ride is out on the Blue Diamond Rd. Many of us have to go across town to get home. Being New Years Eve, I-15 may be backed up.
I'm considering either taking 215 all the way around Henderson to avoid downtown all together as well as the strip area.
